A seaside resort in the province of Lecce, Lido Marini is located in the south of Salento and is one of the most animated marinas during the summer. The tourist resort has developed especially in the last fifty years, after the passage of the territory from the municipality of Presicce to that of Ugento.
In Lido Marini it is possible to enjoy both different catering activities (restaurants, delis, pizzerias, etc.), and local retreat and evening entertainment (bars and disco-bars). There are also areas with bathing establishments and beaches equipped as the Saracino beach to the south, the Franca area and the Playa Blanca in the central area. Summer in Salento is rich in opportunities for fun and traditional parties and it is for this reason that Lido Marini is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from all over the world. Very easy to reach, the nearest center is Ugento, although the beach is located in the municipality of Salve.
Located between Torre Pali, municipality of Salve and Ugento, on the beaches of the Ionian Sea, its beach is almost entirely sandy, with shallow waters and fine sand, all characteristics that make this resort very popular in summer. The surrounding area has a vegetation dominated by the Mediterranean maquis and consists of some features of vegetation mixed with the ubiquitous olive tree, a distinctive feature of the Apulian territories.
You can also see the presence of a water catchment area, in the north-west part of the territory of Ugento, the dialectal name “Spunderati”, which belongs to the network of basins of Marina di Ugento,which are connected by canals in the vicinity of the coastal strip between the marinas of Lido Marini, Torre Mozza and Torre San Giovanni. Lido Marini also faces the “Ugento Shoals”, a stretch of sea of a few square kilometers of surface, in which the seabed is kept particularly low, causing since the fears of Rome, a series of shipwrecks, of which the traces remain in the depths. The latter, in fact, houses the remains of artifacts from the shipping routes of Lido Marini, as well as Torre Pali.
